As the weather gets cooler, many people start craving something warm.
Chinese congee is a great choice to warm up a cold stomach. It's also
easy to digest and acts as a tonic. So why not go to a Chinese congee
restaurant, order a bowl and try a bit of boiled happiness?

Congee made its debut in Chinese cuisine as early as 4,000 years ago. At
that time, congee was made from cereal. As time goes by, congee is
becoming more diverse. There are now rice, flour, wheat, bean, vegetable,
flower, fruit and meat congees, just to name a few. Now, instead of just
filling you up, there are also congees made with ingredients that are
good for what ails you, such as yam, chestnuts, sesame, almond, medlar,
or anything else that is good for the body.

It's also nice to cook congee at home and enjoy the do-it-yourself fun.
However, congee sold at special congee restaurants tastes much better and
better for the body because it's cooked in big pot over a strong fire and
seasoned with more special ingredients.
