It seems that actress Katie Holmes is striving to recommence her acting
career with an impressive role in the movie version of the 1982 Broadway
musical "Nine".
The 28-year-old-wife of Tom Cruise did a singing and dancing audition
recently in the office of Oscar winner Rob Marshall who will be directing
the film, reports the New York Post.
Other stars being considered for the coveted role include Demi Moore, who
did an audition on the same day as Holmes, Renee Zellweger and Catherine
Zeta-Jones.
The film is being produced by the Weinstein Co., which obtained rights to
the project from original "Nine" book writer Arthur Kopit and composer
Maury Yeston, who will serve as co-executive producers.
Nine, set in Venice, Italy in the 1960s, premiered on Broadway in 1982
and was last seen on Broadway in 2003 in a production starring Antonio
Banderas.
